Great Places to Walk in Hendersonville: Patton Park

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Terrain: Paved path with no hills
  • Environment: Pleasant with ponds and a creek in a City Park
  • Distance: 1/2 mile loop
  • Parking: Either in Patton Park or on Asheville HWY between Subway and Fortune Asian.

Description:

Patton Park is a great place to walk near downtown Hendersonville, NC.  The path is a paved half mile loop with no hills. There are two points at which you cross Brittain Creek by an arched bridge. There is a pond with ducks and numerous places to sit and rest.  Bicycles, rollerblades and skateboards are not allowed so you do not have to worry about getting run over. Leashed dogs are permitted. Just make sure to clean up after them.

If you become more ambitious with your walking regimen, the Oklawaha Greenway connects to Patton Park and you can follow it all the way to Jackson Park across town.

There are two restaurants adjacent to the park, Fortune Asian and Subway.
